One opportunity among others would be tackling racism #OnHere and sharing posts by notorious BIPOC activists. In terms of diversity, we've got enough white people talking about climate change here, including leading scientists, but building bridges with Southern CJ activists would bring a breath of fresh air to your followers.

honk and gemini users have the reputation of being smarter and more peaceful because they're only debilitated by a margin.
I understand that people may go to the most crowded aggregators, but personally I had the most interactions per blog post with honk and Gemini. I've had semi-regular interactions with famous bloggers (in my niche), skyjake had thanked me because he'd stumbled upon a bug on my i18n domain name, people would ask me how they could "install Gemini"…
So IMHO pushing for the weirdest stack could also be a winning strategy. In the context of a globally crappy web 2 stack, it may be more fulfilling (at least for me) to lead by the example and to gradually build a small but intentional community with the right tech™ than to almost directly start with a 4-figures, but distant Instagram audience.
@oblomov But if they share actual resources people can make the travel once in a while to skim through their new entries. That's how most people read blogs.

Without further considerations we're a valid enough reason for calmer, cleaner cities, because a society that lefts people behind is structurally flawed, but other sick people, the elder, children, our ecosystem, and everyone would enjoy them.
Free software may be required to include paranoid people, who often are child abuse survivors, but besides Twitter memes like ProtonMail and Mastodon abled people (including young teenagers) can browse a curated free software app store like F-Droid with trust.

Je ne dis pas, encore une fois, que les tatouages politiques renforceraient forcément un engagement politique tendanciellement insuffisant. Ce n'est pas mon créneau. Je dis que lorsque c'est le cas, c'est pour des raisons techniques.
Je ne veux pas appliquer un jugement de classe (ou un point de vue légitimiste) en parlant implicitement de tatouages, simplement certain'es sympathisant'es/camarades ne savent plus ou donner de la tête et se tatouent pour renforcer un engagement intellectuel et affectif (perçu comme) insuffisant. C'est un enjeu notamment technique.
Le fait que les personnes s'expriment autant ou à peine moins par connotation qu'il y a quarante ans, et celui qu'elles expriment de plus en plus leurs revendications politiques aux surfaces de leurs corps, sont notamment des conséquences de choix techniques et politiques.
@DavidBHimself A puzzling part is that there seems to be overlap between basically trolling users about being depressed and shattering the open source community through anonymous posts.
And the same goes for the US IT workforce, with the usual pronouns jokes, anti-CoC campaigns, etc. Thinking about the FreeBSD campaign, some organizations (with the means to flood a large anonymous forum for more than a decade) really want to drive FLOSS into the wall but the same can be said about more modern, secure prigramming languages.
My point remains that these organizations seem to leverage depression to keep potential community leaders inactive, with a few acute, newsworthy incidents.
@DavidBHimself I was just saying this in the context of a public thread. I don't want young users to read my first reply, and think "So cool! I'm going to become a 4chan geopolitics expert!" when all that lies ahead, without having read a solid thousand of pages of academic litterature, is depression.
@DavidBHimself PSA: please don't go on 4chan without a bit of reading (actual reading, of at least a few nonfiction books) if you don't want to get exposed to propaganda and eventually start a depression
