@DavidBHimself PSA: please don't go on 4chan without a bit of reading (actual reading, of at least a few nonfiction books) if you don't want to get exposed to propaganda and eventually start a depression
@oceane No worries, I have no intention of going on 4chan. The last time I went was before it goes full crazy/crypto/fascist/conspiracy theorist/etc and that was already a bit too much for me.
@DavidBHimself I was just saying this in the context of a public thread. I don't want young users to read my first reply, and think "So cool! I'm going to become a 4chan geopolitics expert!" when all that lies ahead, without having read a solid thousand of pages of academic litterature, is depression.
@DavidBHimself A puzzling part is that there seems to be overlap between basically trolling users about being depressed and shattering the open source community through anonymous posts.
And the same goes for the US IT workforce, with the usual pronouns jokes, anti-CoC campaigns, etc. Thinking about the FreeBSD campaign, some organizations (with the means to flood a large anonymous forum for more than a decade) really want to drive FLOSS into the wall but the same can be said about more modern, secure prigramming languages.
My point remains that these organizations seem to leverage depression to keep potential community leaders inactive, with a few acute, newsworthy incidents.
