Ah no, seriously, like another person here I never had the chance to buy either at the time. I was an Atari loyalist from the eight-bit days and I knew the Amiga was a 'better' machine than the ST. (I can't remember if I knew then that the Amiga also had a lineage to the Atari eight bits). I own both now (an A600 and 512STFM), and I'm a bit embarrassed to say I prefer the technically inferior machine.
@andreasgoebel I was too young back then to do anything else than kid games on those, but if I summarize what I learned since then, the overall is that base Amiga is better on the hardware side until you start adding stuff to Atari ST?

@transcendentempress Hi I got a 520 stfm in the past and still have a Falcon 030 and I am not at all nostalgic of GEM. I am around Linux since 1995 when I bought my first PC, Linux does not seem a new thing for me ๐. I still have in mind the feeling of enlightment when I discovered this OS. It was in a book which I forgot the title
