@brianvastag @arstechnica Hmm, so you basically don't want to ever use self hosted services then? Because that looks pretty standard, if anything the documentation is better than most services that would just tell you which port it uses, and let you figure out everything else.

@bagder I don't know how it's done on iOS, but on Android as far as I know the "native" (Kotlin/Java) implementations don't use libcurl, but Room uses sqlite, so it is more likely for apps to create a new instance of sqlite than libcurl. That being said, they depend on OpenSSL for HTTPS calls, so maybe OpsnSSL is the winner on Android devices, as basically all apps make HTTPS calls but not all apps have a local DB with sqlite, and libcurl installations don't scale linearly with the number of apps...

@bagder Hmm, that's a tricky one, if we just count the number of instances I think sqlite is higher than libcurl or OpenSSL because those would likely depend on dynamically linked libraries installed once per machine, but sqlite is often embedded and thus installed multiple times... but you're asking specifically about which one is installed in most devices, not most installed overall.

Ça fait genre 3 ans que j'ai un Steam Deck, j'ai découvert aujourd'hui que les boutons au dos que je n'aime pas ne marchent pas comme je le pensais... Je les trouve pas confortables parce que je les "tire" (genre je ferme mes doigts quoi) alors qu'il faut les pousser verticalement (genre le bouton est sur l'arrière, pas dans les poignées)...
Bon ils restent nuls, le fait que ce soit moins intuitif de les utiliser "normalement" fait bien qu'il ne sont quand même pas confortables. J'espère que le Steam Controller améliore ça.

@jor C'est pas juste le truc pour faire des tests A/B, où ils ont des nouvelles fonctionnalités qui sortent petit à petit, avec le code inclus dans une mise à jour mais derrière un feature flag qui est activé par vagues pour avoir des retours et voir que tout marche bien ?

@bagder It's just linguo that differs between management strategies, a work item is a unit of project planning that gets assigned to someone to work on (not necessarily the person opening it), it could be a feature or a bug.

@arstechnica AI is a stupid term that too often just means LLMs these days, but if they are working on proper prediction models trained on relevant data, and not just feeding the data to their preferred LLM provider, that isn't a bad idea.
