human artist rants, AI, genAI on Meta platforms
so I just noticed in IG, if you tap the button on upper right of your art, it'll show up AI description generated real-time (it was empty first and there are Meta AI animation going on before the text is there)also I see more people who aren't using AI there are accused to use it, I expect both mainstream users and artists would become more confused and later we wouldn't be able to distinguish which ones are human made. anyway, those artists plead to be able to appeal to Meta so they can submit proofs of art creation.
but even if it's granted, at this point I just know they'll just feed them to data center so AI can learn to mimic process videos/ art sketches. just like how they blocked FB profile then asked us to submit selfie video. (my profile was blocked, I granted selfie vid, but I covered my head with towel and made weird faces in the process.)
I know anything I uploaded to IG potentially has been fed to data center, but at least they have the option not to include my stuff(?) idk if they're lying or be tricky about it.
I'm not a famous artist/person to begin with, so maybe the stake wouldn't be as high. but the more they push us to use AI shits the more I feel pessimistic about safe space to be an artist posting artworks. I already left xitter, now leaving meta is in the consideration. I'm sad if I have to leave a platform and "just find new friends on diff platform" is not so helping, even if new connection can be built, existing friends can't be replaced.
though there are still cara, tumblr, newgrounds, mastodon, bsky, pixiv... I have the longest and most connection in Meta platform.
idk just confused rn. maybe I'll just be a lurker for friends update there and post my shits somewhere else. I'm so disappointed but what to expect anyway. it's the "my expectations were low but holy shit" situation every single day.
I'd appreciate if you have suggestions or thoughts. thank you for reading.
