@Elizafox How dare they wanting freedom from the medical-industrial complex instead of just pony-up more money and get an enshitified version of their previous equipment, like a good patient?
I got a new wheelchair. The configuration is now done through a mobile app that check access rights with the manufacturer before allowing resellers to change anything; I haven't been able to get it configured as I need it. It reports back through a cell connection to the reseller and the manufacturer all usage data, including GPS position, and you can't meaningfully turn it off (there's an "airplane mode" that makes the wheelchair blink like a Christmas tree). I suppose someone in Sweden can brick it if they wanted it. I am seriously considering trying to crack up the software, but I suppose that would make me the butt of a joke.
