@tournesol so, normally, I keep water in the kawasaki for this reason. But the bottle was gone.
Dad had a few workers down below today and the sheep were being weird in the meadow because of the equipment noise/smell. So he brought down a bucket of allstock but didn't adequately wet it first (think how you might pour milk over cereal) and the ram nailed him in the ass, spilling the bucket of dry feed.
He texts me "can you give me a hand with these sheep?"
I got down below and Usagi is rearing backwards, foaming at the mouth. She's backing up, peeing, clearly choking on the feed and panicking. Dad says "I think he's having a seizure."
I ask about the water in the kawasaki, Dad says there isn't one. I say "can you control the ram?" And he responds, "yes."
I drag Usagi over to a puddle in the meadow but I can't get her to drop her head to the ground to drink.
Time was running out. So I trapped her between my thighs, hocked a giant loogie into my own mouth to protect against the upcoming crime, reached into the puddle, dropped a generous handful of muddy oregon rain into my mouth, pried her lips apart, spit it all into her gullet, then raised her up onto her hind legs and held her mouth shut for a count of three before releasing her face and lifting her hind legs so her head was down.
She barfed (and peed) on me halfway through the process, but she was saved.
For those of you wondering why I had to spit the water: you can't pry a sheep's mouth open with one hand and also control their body while holding a handful of water.
