Me, I prefer chopsticks for everything, but my heart belongs to the little spoon. 🤔

@sinituulia forks, but forks for highly specific foods: fondue, cake, snail, potatoes, carving...
Note that the wikipedia on forks has a right-handed pastry fork also !

@just_chill Oh THAT'S what that's called, there were a couple of pastry forks in this fancy set we had for some reason (our family is not exceedingly fancy, just the regular amount) and I always wondered what was up with them. 😆 Here you almost never eat dessert with a fork, it's always a little spoon, preferably one with a sort of sharp and delicate tip and edges, so it cuts through cake and pastries as well as ice cream etc. Who knows if fruit salad would be better with a fork...

@sinituulia I do get cake spoons ! As far as I can tell, frenchs and germans eat their cake with a spoon too. My household has cakes forks AND cake knives, but that's definitely not standard :neocat_laugh_sweat:

@just_chill I'd love to go to an incredibly elaborate dinner as a sort of alien anthropology exercise, with someone interpreting and talking me through it, like "this little fork is called and is used because" and all the little intricacies that are not usually bothered with any more. Rituals and such are always fascinating!
