@ploum Hello! I often agree with your ideas but on this one I’m not sure I get the point?
I think it’s actually great to have apps that are medium-specific? I’m not sure someone joining Pixelfed is expecting to see anything else than media posts in their feed, and Pixelfed never had the pretense of being a general microblogging platform?
If all the Fediverse platforms are generic, then they are just different UIs for the same and we loose a lot of the fun in diversity of social platforms?
@nclm@ploum Agreed. I'm on Piefed as an alternative to Reddit. You can't follow individual users, so the vast majority of content posted by Mastodon/Sharkey/Iceshrimp users is not displayed.
And that's fine, I use my Iceshrimp account for those. When I use Piefed, I expect a different format.
