I know I worry too much
I know I catastrophize too often
but seeing the headline
“1st human known
to be infected
with H5N5 strain of bird flu
dies,”
go largely ignored
as everyone discusses
their holiday plans
feels like the opening scene
in a movie
about a catastrophic outbreak.

@plaguepoems Well, H5N1 has killed more than that back in 2006-2007.

Everybody was panicking for the pandemic to come and…Nothing except some (now) silly ads and tons of medication (Tamiflu) manufactured and trashed.

The old men who unfortunately died from H5N5 was having mixed bird stock in his backyard and was having a bad health. No human-to-human transmission has been ever reported for this strain. We are very very far away from a pandemic. you can plan your Christmas holidays 😀
