So you wake up suddenly bonded to an immortal and mostly sentient shrimp. It's about the size of a ballet slipper and has the cognitive capabilities of a really clever parrot, and is mostly capable of taking care of itself, consuming lint, things off the floor and anything you give it. It understands speech up to a point, recovers from horrific injuries without issue and is pretty friendly... The only real issue is that the government absolutely cannot know about the shrimp.

How do you feel?

@sinituulia is the governement actively searching for the shrimp, though ? People manage to keep lions and tigers illegally, I'd say that a shoe-sized silent animal won't be too difficult to keep hidden if no one is searching for it.

@just_chill Most of the government, no, but there's a couple of not that well adjusted people on staff that know there's an immortal shrimp they'd really like to study, for its regenerative capabilities, that slipped their grasp previously... And because for everyone's benefit the old, rich and powerful should not achieve immortality any time soon, it's important they don't catch and experiment on little shrimp friend!

That said, it isn't very large or loud, so maybe you could get away with taking it for seaside walkies, or building a little aquarium for it for when it wants to take a dip?
