Braille is important and should continue to be taught to blind and visually impaired children in spite of today’s text-to-speech and other digital and technological advancements. 52 votes83%Due to the advancement in screen reading software and other digital and technological services, braille is becoming less relevant and should not be taught to the blind or visually impaired. 3 votes4%I am unsure where I stand on this issue. 7 votes11%

@summersun704 Not blind/visually impaired but as a person that hates audio recordings I feel like TTS is not the answer. In social contexts where people would usually read their personal communications, for blind people having to put on earbuds and use TTS means disconnecting from the rest of the world, whereas braille interfaces allows them to keep their ears available so they can be aware of their surroundings.
