@transcendentempress Well, yeah, the soundtrack was great ... but I thought the movie wasn't that bad either. It was just extremely ambitious to plan it as a series, start with the earliest prelude and then wait to see if this part one is taking flight. That was ... not smart. IMHO.

But I thought it was a fairly good fantasy movie.

@orangelantern Also, I recall seeing the first trailer few hours after I went to see The Battle of the Five Armies, and the movie itself a few months after the release of the Extended Edition. Looked so cheap in comparison.

@transcendentempress Can't remember the trailer tbh, but I don't recall the movie looking cheap.

@orangelantern Well, thinking about it, "cheap" isn't the appropriate word. It's more like it's overall way too much CGI-looking, whereas we do know on Hobbit/LOTR movies they always really tried for most things looking "real".
