ac mirage spoilers a part of me does understand why it's so dull. its set during a time where the assassins are more strict and rigid in their approach. they are less concerned about individualism and freedom and more about keeping the peace which causes the characters to be very serious and direct. the story is about basim rejecting their ideals as he disobeys them to pursue the nightmares that has followed him his whole life. this game is before altair took over and changed the philosophies of the assassins so it makes sense. that being said,, just cause it makes sense narratively and canonically that doesn't mean the story is actually fun to play through

ac mirage spoilers @ghostlyash I think that this is what you get when you're more concerned over pleasing the overconservative, very vocal minority of your playerbase who wanted "old school AC" (the very same "old school AC" the couldn't stand anymore years ago), instead of capitalising on the good elements of your recent entries. Embrassing RPG elements was the best thing to do, as this was what the saga needed, it was the non-evolving other parts that made the mix a bit weird or tedious sometimes.

Especially on the narrative that should have evolved as well but didn't, and that's the very core of what you didn't like here.

ac mirage spoilers @transcendentempress yeah agreed. altho tbh i don't care if they do that from time to time. shadows seems to be a return to form for the rpg stuff. if they also wanna make smaller scale classic games for those fans then i am not bothered by it. if it's not for me then there will always be another one down the corner. i do hate they wasted potential using basim but i still enjoyed him in valhalla so it's not the end of the world in that regard either
