Just realized that in most movies when there’s a big explosion in the distance you hear the boom immediately instead of, like, 20 seconds later.

@fvsch I've been telling that since years. Speed of sound is inexistant in movies and series. There is one : speed of sound equals speed of light somewhat.

The only movie to respect that is Oppenheimer, and it's used as a dramatic effect, to show how big is the Trinity test.
