Who should we support this year with the 7th Proton Lifetime Charity Fundraiser?

@protonprivacy the world need 3000 companies, cooperatives and non-profit providers like Proton.
Maybe pay good money to people in your project whose mission would be to publish under an opensource license all your server-side code? Not only parts of it 😉

The goal of publishing everything would be to allow the creation of other properly encrypted services using your code.

@protonprivacy @vincib It actually was planned to be AGPL-licensed, but it lacked press coverage so they got a National Security Letter from a three-letters agency, like the FBI. They've probably been forced into turning their email server into a honeypot and keeping it running.
