@DrGoldfire I.e., we get these ads because we deserve them. We all say the Firefox browser is a crucial piece of tech, we all know its developer has to accept two thirds of its budget because it's underfunded, but few have ever given to it.
Blaming it for trying to survive because we, so-called open web activists, can't be bothered to make recurring donations is despicable.
@DrGoldfire And for the sake of clarity, I'm talking about a collective, cultural behavior. We're all responsible for this situation; we could all do more (and I'm not talking about giving more, I'm talking about providing education materials, raising awareness instead of complaining in exactly the same way we have about Ubuntu).
@oceane Please read up on the structure of Mozilla before posting takes like this. The Foundation had absolutely nothing to do with this and I really doubt anyone there even knew about it; this is all the Corporation's doing. And donations go to the Foundation, not the Corporation, they don't fund Firefox development at all.
