While I'm asking questions, do any existing federated systems deal with replies by allowing the OP to moderate the reply stream?
I would imagine something like this would/could be implemented so that the OP republishes [signed or links to] replies, and clients would ignore anything not in that "OP blessed" feed.
(the motivation for this is that the biggest challenge I see moderating local facebook groups is that post replies often get way out of hand, and group moderators very quickly get overwhelmed. Allowing commenters to moderate their own replies would be [I think?] amazing, and something facebook will never do for obvious engagement-involved reasons)
(this approach would also help silence e.g. reply-guys and pile-ons, which is why I assume it's already been discussed to death, I just haven't been party to that discussion, but I'm curious! 😊)
