dysphoria, mh-- My transition was always mostly driven by joy and euphoria. Yeah, I knew dysphoria, sometimes it hit hard when I saw something I don't like about my face, or when I got misgendered while tired, that sort of thing. It hit hard and then it went away. (And also, up to a point, when you're used to trans joy, lack of joy can be some sort of low key dysphoria.)

But heavy, pervasive, crippling dysphoria is something new. I had no idea how hard it could be.

I just want people to look at me and see a woman. Like the other women around me. That's simple, ever so simple. And, apparently, so impossible.

mh-, trying to be positive And I'm really fed up with of all that mess in my head and my life those days. One day it's the breakup, the next one it's my attachment trauma, now it's dysphoria.

If I want to spin it in a positive light, in a way it speaks volumes about how my self care skills have improved. Now I'm down, but I had a good day globally. And more generally it's a fucking miracle I'm even vaguely functional with all that stuff; I could never have pulled it out a few years ago.
