so now i have a blog and im like "blogging is hard"

i never really know what to write about but i think its more structural too. like, how much effort do you put into a blog post? do you just write it stream of consciousness style and throw it out to the wolves, or do you start with a thesis and an outline and then flesh that out? how many editing passes do you do? etc

@eniko I thought you were thinking about using it to supplant cohost? I guess the first move would be to move your cohost posts to there and then shrug do whatever you were doing on cohost?

@eniko on my side, I just do whatever. Effort depends on what I'm talking about, some things are more of stream of consciousness, others are more refined and might take years to complete (but that's mostly because my mind starts focusing on other things). I have a category specifically for “notes that may turn into an article some time in the future” if things start taking too long and I still want to get something out.

@eniko recently I've also starting doing a kind of PESOS: writing threads here to collect ideas, and then turn then into long form articles on my website.

The key point in my case is I write for me, not for others, but publish online just in case it might turn useful for others too. I do have a couple of “bangers”, as in posts I wrote quite some time ago that keep making the rounds because apparently they were sorely needed, but most of it is barely seen by anybody, and that's fine.
