I expect the French left, having joined together to get Macron's bollocks out of the fire in the election will not be pleased that their efforts have led to Macon naming Michel Barnier (a veteran of France's Republican party) PM to build a centre-right government in the face of a large minority left flank.

Next time the Right come panicking to the Left for help they may find the door closed!

Lesson(s) for the Left: don't trust Macron; alliance looks like it could be good tactic

@ChrisMayLA6 Every centrist has a boss: the leader of a large right-wing party, or, in Macron's case, the boss of the French CEOs union, the Medef.

It was silly from the beginning to expect him – especially as a former trader at Goldman-Sachs – to have any residual form of respect for our institutions.
