Ok, Aral....
Let the US stop arming, everyone; and walk away from policing the fucking world. What a great plan! Let Putin and Xi decide who kills who. Why not. They are such bastions of human rights. The US is far from perfect, but better yet, let Iran and the Talian of Afghanistan decide who gets what and who lives or dies. They're so progressive, I'm sure you and your family can go there and will be living the dream....

I'm having trouble understanding your comment. If your asking me if the same logic applies to arming this group/country versus that group/country I would submit all arms manufacture and sales should be illegal and strictly regulated by world government. If we're to survive as a species, we need to act like we're a species worth survival.

A couple of things…

Of all the countries the United States supplies with arms, the one I most disapprove of is Israel, seeing all that it does in Gaza, West Bank and Palestinians in that area.
That said, democracy seems to be a nice thing to defend when there are resources to have or some other self-interest to protect.

As far as we are concerned as a species… I am not sure we are worth saving…

I did not mean to be presumptuous.
I just expressed my doubts as to whether our species is worth saving.
I have not studied sociology, let alone French sociology.

I fail to see the good versus evil in my post.
Whether something is good or bad often depends on the context.

@lednaBM @cb_sourire No, you weren't well, out of your lane. Guessing whether humanity is, or not, worth saving belongs to a class of reasonings which are more presomptuous opinions than actual resources. This is very common, our societies are designed this way.
