Hey fedi, I just had my first band practice session ever. It was a blast but I keep wondering if it wasn’t too loud since our drummer had to use acoustic drums. I’m concerned it’s going to be a problem in the long run. Any tips on how to protect my ears? We stock those soft foam earplugs, I wonder if they’ll do a good enough job.

@IoSapsai Earplugs ! Always ! Espacially if you play with a drummer these things are loud.
There's a solution for each budget out there
:neocat_laugh_sweat: if you can find some "oropax" quickly, they dampen the sound a fair bit but they keep the high understandable.
I bought earplugs for about 30€ dedicated for musician and they're fine, but I can't really hear the highs anymore.
Everyone and their dog recomends the brand loop, so it musn't be bad.
At the highest price point you can get some made to your ears that fit perfectly, which is nice if you wear them a lot. They are probably somewhere between 100 and 200€, I guess. (Can't wait to have the budget for that I admit)
