Icon design is hard. In the reply to this post is a photo of a dial on a toaster. This dial allows you to control how long the bread is toasted. Which icon represents "Lighter"?

Dial on a toaster representing 'how much' to toast. All of the icons are white on a black background, at both ends is a 'slice of bread' icon. One end is an outline icon, the other is solid.

I actually think this is a reasonable design, I'm just calling out how tricky it was for them to get it right.

@scottjenson Without the bullet in increasing sise, and the usual direction from left to right for increasing values, it would have been hard to tell. Finnally, the icons seem to be present just to show what is triggered when adjusting this button.

@namori agreed! This is pushing me to saying the icons aren't effective and basically REQUIRE these other hints in order to work. Makes me question the whole approach (or at least rethink how it should be approached)
