@picardtips Pardon me, but isn't moral superiority the successful result of using morality against an opponent?
As far as I understand it, maybe a little bit too literally, activism (done right) is a form of moral superiority. NVC is a form of moral superiority. Talking about "moral superiority" to avoid dealing with ethics – organized forms of community/societal wisdom – literally couldn't be more immoral, for – as far as I understand it and my philosophy grades were terrible – its goal is to push back against this collective, more efficient version of a safety net while hollowing its last resort individual counterpart from any meaning.
@picardtips If I can make a cop in service avoid eye contact because he's afraid NVC could make him a better person, then I'm morally superior to him. I def would lose in a fist fight but if a few dozen activists waking up early can delay or avoid an eviction, then we're morally superior to e.g. the town office. If I can defuse a situation of mutual, intra-class abuse with people I love because the school system, then social media have been designed this way, then I'm morally superior to the people who have designed them for this purpose – relatively speaking, but we'll get there eventually.
@picardtips This would imply that politically there would be no such thing as moral superiority within a group of people sharing the same interests. Because struggling with each other would be incompatible with community/societal wisdom.
