My partner's parents were Boomers, mine are Gen X. Boomer parenting was a disaster. I can see the generation difference in attitudes towards children.

His parents just chose to have kids with no concept they were people with emotional needs who would require care and support. They just had kids & expected them to just figure shit out for themselves. Everyone should be glad those attitudes are frowned on more these days.
