DuckDuckGo has committed a cardinal sin today. I did a regular web search in my browser, and instead of providing search results this popup appeared. Does anyone have any recommendations for alternative search engines (that aren't Google, Yahoo, or Bing)? I would really appreciate something with the !Bang shortcuts DDG has.

@brainblasted Yes, with Firefox you can right-click in most search fields and add keywords that will send any request beginning with them in the Firefox bar to the respective search facilities.

I've read a free software blogger saying that he didn't see the point of forwarding all of his requests through a third-party service.

@brainblasted I was assuming you would be using another browser, but I was also wondering if this feature wasn't implemented because it didn't fit to the project's development goals, or due to a lack of resources, or to something else.

@brainblasted @oceane in about:preferences you can add keywords (like bangs!) to your search engines. If your address bar search starts with one of those keywords it selects the corresponding engine. Chromium has this feature too.
