If I define Zero Trust as "Things should not be trusted because of properties unrelated to that thing. Trust should be based on explicit evidence of trustworthiness" does that contravene anyone's understanding of what Zero Trust is?

@mjg59 "Zero trust" ought to refer to not trusting (some, presumably) things at all. So, yes, that's not your definition. But you asked about "Zero Trust" which the capitalisation suggests is marketing bullshit, so who can say?

@Diziet It's certainly marketing bullshit, but at its core it describes something that doesn't really have another name (or, well, it did until everyone started sticking it on everything)

@mjg59 @Diziet I might have missed a few trains but I was associating this with machines you shouldn't have to trust to be able to trust your endpoints (e.g. "we don't trust the infrastructure", or Cwtch's trustless servers)?
