Okay what the fuck what the FUCK

I have an Android app open

It says to create an account they will text me a code and I should enter it into the box. Fine

They text me a code

THE CODE AUTO-FILLS INTO THE BOX AND IS AUTOMATICALLY ACCEPTED WITHOUT ME PERFORMING ANY INPUT

I ABSOLUTELY did not give the phone permission to do that at any point

I'd heard iPhones could do this and it sounds like one of the worst ideas I've ever heard

What the fuck just happened and how do I disable it

@mcc That's... Pretty standard? I don't think it's the app getting access to the texts you receive, more like the other way around.

@Varpie Something, somewhere, read the contents of my SMS messages and forwarded those contents to a third party app. I did not authorize any of this.

@Varpie Also if you look later in the thread you will find documentation of the exact Android feature/API in use. And instructions on how to disable it. Which are, at least for my phone, not accurate
