I totally understand the "do not suggest open source" point every time Microsoft or any GAFAM make shit.

The problem is, what do we do then when they clearly go too far? Because the only thing that did until now is in the end keeping us fully into their ecosystems, with dozens of usages, habits and such preventing us to leave. And clearly we don't have our say in the matter as users, Windows 11 is a clear popular failure, yet MS is pushing even more unwanted and unbridled stuff in it, because they're the only ones in command.

So genuine question, if suggesting open source softwares isn't an appropriate option, what do we do?

@transcendentempress Hmm... I don't understand the "do not suggest open source" thing... as so much "closed source" stuff uses open source anyway... everyone is already using open source stuff whether they like it or not.

So yeah, keep suggesting open source, and if someone tells you not to, laugh at them, tell them "good luck with that", and get on with your life. And maybe stop supporting their closed source stuff for them.
