Random curiosity time, handwriting edition! ✍️
Would you in general consider you have (or had - prior to illness, age or injury) good handwriting, whether or not you've been told so? Which is to say, do you like how it looks, is it easy for you to write, and is it legible to you?

@sinituulia My mum says she could tell I hated that one primary school teacher because my handwriting got really bad that year, and I don't think I've recovered from that. Also my grandparents were primary school teachers and they have the most elegant, perfect, old school handwriting. Which is pretty slow to write and shouldn't be a goal for every day life.
Also I changed country and the handwriting style and rules are noticeably different and no one can read me.

@just_chill One of my grandfathers did drafting work for different offices I think, and would hand letter and neaten up all kinds of drawings, and his wife used to have this very even and curly lovely cursive. When I was a kid I used to think "how are you supposed to read that??" but now I appreciate it more.
How did the rules change? I haven't noticed much differences between countries when exchanging letters!

@sinituulia I learned and still use the old school french cursive handwriting, which is really round and full of loops, and not at all standard anymore. But since at least my peers and people older than me learned this way they can still read it.
German is a lot more wavy/seesaw-like and a varied mix of block and cursive letters. I think they struggle most to differentiate k, h and b, and for my particular handwriting the a and o tend to look similar. my e also sometimes blends in with the next letter.
I actually
posted an example a few days ago, If you're interested. It looks very childish (you can also have a look at the french handwriting hashtag from there)

@just_chill It's only slightly different in vibe from what I was taught, though ours had already done away with some of the extra loops.
Ours, when taught, was rather round and upright, but everybody started writing it pretty slanted, thin and angular after a time. It tends to go that way when writing fast!
But yours does look a lot like some of the samples we did in art class when introduced to some dozen calligraphy styles.
