@AnarchoNinaWrites Hi, our comrades agreed to host my Raspberry Pi at the union, but we need to figure out some technical details – can we have an IPv4 address, could it be shared with other services, can we have a static IP address, and I think that's about it.
I've figured out a rough server “architecture” (closer to a crochet pattern IMO, but nevermind) to make it probably the most hardened ActivityPub server in hardened ActivityPub servers history.
My comrades just wanted to know what would be served, so I told them it was going to be static files, a “Mastodon” (probably honk) instance for the both of us, and that would be about it. I'm gonna do a bit of testing first, but FediPact servers would be updated every 5 minutes at the firewall level automatically, and I'll also add a few block lists; I'll be looking for advice from my admin but I'll also welcome yours.
If you'd rather have another ActivityPub server, because that's a bit exotic and maybe infosec isn't a priority for you, I'll probably use a regular Mastodon server, or maybe Firefish, with Alpine Linux instead.
