Like, I know some of you think I'm being dramatic here; cool. But honestly I'm just looking at the tech we're using here and seeing that Zuck will win. It's literally not enough to just be on a sever that defederates Meta because not everyone I interact with will do so. And their servers will ship those interactions on to a company I think should be disbanded and its executives pushed onto an iceberg. I didn't sign up to make content for guys like Zuck, I came here to STOP doing that.
Furthermore, it IS a personal safety issue; if there's anything the past 10 years have taught me its that big tech companies are either expressly FOR fascism, or simply don't care either way. I write antifascist content, and I'm a trans anarchist. These are all things the world around me is trying to make CRIMINAL. I can see a very near future where having my content pushed to large tech companies, will actively make me a target of fascist pogroms. That's how this works. So... I'm at a loss.
