Reading this novel that was a popular, influential, genre-defining book in Britain in the first half of the 20th century and getting increasingly nervous because either this author is extremely antisemitic or this author is attempting to portray antisemitism as a thing that existed in Britain at the time the book was written and I can't tell which

@TomF Like I'm not going to raise forks and torches of course, but mcc was assuming he was antisemitic as a member of an extremely antisemitic society, or that he was trying to describe his society's antisemitism (which is the point she's trying to make)
