If one day someone finds themselves in a company that uses AI in its professional tools, and is criticised for errors that are tolerated for AI, wouldn't that become discrimination against humans?
@Vefhtagn Alors, une fois traversée la jungle d'écrans popups à refuser et de paramètres à désactiver pour qu'il te fiche la paix, ça va, c'est utilisable. Par contre y aura toujours des trucs modifiés avec une logique plus que douteuse par rapport à Windows 10, et faut tout le temps rester sur ses gardes qu'il te réactive pas ou te repropose pas quelques trucs désactivés/refusés.
So, if we refer to what is apparently tolerated for the production of tools and services stuffed with generative AI, is it now acceptable to say "So, be warned, I can very well tell you/do complete crap while responding to your request" in a professional context?

doctor who episode 4 spoilers@ghostlyash Oh, perfect topic timing, I thought about you this morning at the con we went to today, there was an entire booth dedicated to Dr. Who, with some real size replicas of techs and villains from the show, and a big collection of various merchandising from multiple eras of the series, even some boxed computer games from the 1980s.
This whole "Oh GTA VI got delayed, insert great game released since January can be the GOTY" is really fedding me up. I mean, how is GTA VI the pre-titled GOTY of any year? Even if it would have been released this year, how would it have been more GOTY material than the amazing games released recently? How could games like Split Fiction or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which are absolutely incredible on their own, be less likely to be the defining games of 2025 if there had been GTA VI?

I mean if the answer is "we wanted to replicate how we think the human brain works", sure, why not, but you knew already that we still so barely understand how it actually works, so that's just stupid.
We already potentially knew how to do all the so-called "AIs" do, but in a more standard, much more predicable way (like, "you want this info, I know precisely where it is, what it says, here is the info" which is literally what every program does, instead of "feed me with infos, and maybe I'll be able to get you something from the digested garbage").
At which point did it technically went wrong? And I'm not asking about the corpo greed side here, I'm asking about conceptually what lead to something so badly conceived, how do you come up with something that's just so random, to the point we need scientific studies afterward to try understand how it really works?
