@sophie Just woke up, 30 min earlier than usual (well, the alarm at least, body usually very often wakes me up between 6 and 7, but then I try to get back to sleep a little), for I need to be at work earlier as well to depart at 8, it's a looong trip day. We are going to do network changes on 3-hours away sites, and need to be there before 12 to do all the access papers.

@nononymous @mayasynth Aaah, repenser à l'UI, aux thèmes, ça me donne envie de le réinstaller tiens !😄

Faut dire aussi, c'est quand même de bons souvenirs cet OS, parce que le PC sur lequel je l'ai connu a été le premier vrai PC neuf un peu puissant qu'on ait eu dans la famille depuis longtemps (on passait d'un vieux Compaq de récup avec Pentium 233MHz sans aucune carte 3D à un Celeron 800MHz, de ceux de la génération Pentium III qui n'avaient qu'un peu de mémoire cache en moins et donc restaient très corrects), du coup y a plein de jeux auxquels j'ai enfin pu jouer dessus. Puis sur la fin, on avait rajouté une Voodoo2, qui malgré son ancienneté mettait la misère la plupart du temps à l'Intel i810.

@mayasynth ME, on l'a eu sur le PC que ma grand-mère avait acheté à l'époque, ben en vrai moi j'ai quasiment pas eu de vrais gros soucis avec (le plus chiant sur ce PC aura plutôt été côté matos, avec le chipset i810 de la carte mère qui ne gérait pas l'AGP, ce qui à l'époque a été un gros frein pour la faire évoluer côté accélération 3D, d'ailleurs au passage ton pseudo affiché actuel m'a vendu du rêve dès qu'il est apparu dans ma TL😄).

Faut dire, mais ça je l'ai appris que bien des années plus tard, que sa réputation d'être instable vient d'un truc très bête, Microsoft introduit son nouveau format de pilotes à l'époque, sauf que ceux pour une bonne dizaine de périphériques de base du système (genre, de mémoire, celui pour la souris) sont présents sur le CD d'installation mais pas installés, à la place sont par défaut les pilotes ancien format Win 9x, pour le coup potentiellement plus instables.😅

Donc même une réinstallation ne corrigeait pas ça, puisque la seule manière de le faire était de passer manuellement sur chacun des pilotes concernés et de les màj avec ceux du CD. Et comme à l'époque, je pense qu'une grosse part des gens qui l'avaient sur leur PC ne l'ont jamais su, ça a contribué à cette mauvaise réputation.

@mayasynth J'en ai eu de la noname comme ça, à l'époque où j'avais pas trop le choix niveau sous. Peut-être pas ces modèles-là spécifiquement, mais à vérifier parce que j'en ai encore une ou deux qui traînent.

Par contre j'avoue que même si sur la config que j'ai faite pour le PC créa, l'idée c'était d'aller au moins cher, y a que le boîtier pour lequel je suis vraiment partie du le plus cheap possible, l'alim c'était la moins chère du LDLC du coin, pas du Net.😄

En vrai, pourquoi je me fais suer à sauvegarder les répertoires des jeux, autant m'astreindre à garder à jour un backup des installeurs.

Genre là, j'avais save le répertoire de CP2077, bah au final au moment de repointer GOG Galaxy dessus, le jeu se lançait pas et à la vérification/réparation il a pratiquement tout retéléchargé.

So, yesterday:
-updated MB BIOS, Windows didn't like it for reason, started to loop on its useless repair stuff
-went to town, bought 2 yuri manga first volumes
-went back home, tried to repair Windows, didn't work, spend part of the evening making backups cuz one of my drive seemed not to like lot of big copies without stopping to do anything
-had the great idea to tell myself "hey, how about I removed the Windows booting partitions which are on my storage drive for some reason", it took GParted the night to put everything at the start of the drive to regain 150MB😅
-now finally reinstalling Windows and put everything back in place😮‍💨
