Bon, ça m'a fait découvrir l'existence de SelfContact qui dit avoir les numéros de téléphone de 27 millions de français, ce que je trouve très concernant, mais au moins ils ont un bon formulaire pour faire la demande de suppression des données au DPO.

@Meyerweb I would say "CSS is too big" is a valid criticism for a simple reason: you picked you brother in Chromium because that's basically one of 3 options that can ever exist due to how big CSS is. Outside Chromium, Webkit and Gecko, there are a few attempts to create a new browser engine but the task is so massive that it would take a decade, during which more things are added... And because we don't want to break existing websites, nothing can be cleaned up, so yes, we end up with bloat. That's just the result of needing to support the whole World Wide Web, including old websites that won't be updated to new standards.

@researchfairy And this is why your proposal will just never pass. If you don't want to hear arguments to make it better, then don't expect anything from it.
I'm definitely in favour of bigger regulations, and making many actors accountable, but sacrificing privacy for it is not the way.

@researchfairy Suuuure... Currently, you can buy an insurance that they don't use it for their own benefits with enterprise tier contracts, because the big 3 kinda suck, what you propose makes it impossible to have better, privacy friendly actors that don't log it.

@researchfairy Then you need to make it more specific, because there were already privacy concerns when OpenAI brought chat logs to court over suicidal teens, and what you propose makes them mandatory for all users, including those with an enterprise contract that assures that OpenAI (or other) doesn't train on your data or sell it. If it's kept in logs, it's just a matter of when that data will be leaked...

That one I don't agree with. It's basically kissing goodbye to any kind of user privacy, and makes it absolutely unusable in a corporate setting. Since outputs often include elements from the inputs, it gives way too much information about the users, and LLMs can be useful tools for e.g. rewording an email or producing code (they're not always reliable, but in some specific cases they can be useful). Having to log all outputs makes those usage absolutely impossible.

@crowdagger D'un point de vue utilisation sans regarder sous le capot (cette partie dépend du langage), dans la majorité des cas une fonction async exécute une tâche longue (genre appel réseau) et await est utilisé pour dire "ok maintenant j'ai besoin de la réponse donc j'attends". Tu peux avoir await dbCall(); directement, ce qui est équivalent à un appel normal, mais tu peux aussi appeler une liste de tâches, et les await séparément, ce qui permet de faire plusieurs appels en parallèle au lieu de tout faire en série.

@minybolito C'est un peu difficile à estimer parce qu'il y a beaucoup de configurations disponibles, mais je dirais 100€ pour un modèle i5 8Go 256Go, environ.

@minybolito Les mini PCs genre ThinkCentre sont top, perso je suis toujours sur des Pi et j'ai pas vraiment la place pour upgrade mais j'ai fortement considéré acheter quelques ThinkCentre M710Q Tiny, ils sont super accesibles en seconde main (genre LeBonCoin ou Ebay) et très utilisés en homelab donc il y a aussi plein de projets d'impression 3D pour les mettre dans des racks et tout.

@bagder @pollita This flow isn't ideal, but I think it's basically a hotfix for damage control, and hope they are working on a better solution.
Ideally, on top of Contributors, it should be possible to create a PR if you are assigned an Issue. This way, newcomers could look at issues tagged as easy first tasks, ask to be assigned (that also lets the PM and other people know that this issue is being looked into) and once they are done, they can submit a PR because they are assigned a task.
Though in some ways, that moves the problem from PRs to Issues: it works when looking at existing issues, but who should be able to create issues? If everyone can, there will be a flood of sloppy issues being created...

@box464 Hmm, I feel like the answers are slightly biased... Why not both? A thin layer before toasting for a nice golden toast, and more on top for the taste.
Also, as a disclaimer: I don't have a toaster oven, so haven't tried this method.
