Sorry, wasn't there much today, I went to a nearby con with my brother and one of my best friends, then we went to our usual game store and library as we came back early enough. Then tonight almost missed but still watched second half of this month's Les Nouilles Rampantes.
It was a pretty good day. To forget a bit about tomorrow, to forget what might happen after tomorrow.
So, the main point: what do you get with a sub-30 bucks PC case light this, as you rarely see those reviewed on the various tech websites?
Well, first thing you immediately notice: it's super light. The frame is still a metal one, with plastic front panel, but the overall weight is really low.
The various wires inside for front panel stuff are also super thin ones, except the USB 3 plug which is a standard one. The good thing is that they're long ones, almost too much for such a compact case, so you don't struggle with length while doing a bit of cable management.
The disk "slots", 1x 3.5" and 1x2.5", are among the elements that really shows the very low cost side of such case: there's no real support for them, instead the flat base of the case is pierced with holes to insert the screws attached to the discs, and you tighten them directly onto it. As this means that the disks are not raised, you have to be careful not to bend the SATA or power cables too much, and this prevents the use of angled cables.
Overall: yes, it feels super cheap. I mean, it is, they even printed the "manual" on the back of the cardboard to save on the inclusion of even a quick instruction leaflet. But also yes, it's perfectly going to do the job, a very compact lightweight microATX case, while looking pretty in pink and colorful with RGB.
