For this week's piece, it's obviously a tribute to the work of Stéphane Picq, and of course it's a track from Cryo's Dune soundtrack, which was one of the biggest video-game slams of my childhood.

I had the CD-ROM version, and I still remember the big box with its incredible design, with its full-size manual that could be read horizontally, and this game with its crazy visuals and music, one of the first I played with 3D CGI animations.

us politics shitpost @ghostlyash Yeah, clearly that awful world (the human one at least, natural one is still great) which lead us to this must absolutely not be made "great again" or anything. We must let it crumble and start anew. After all, it's only a century old or much less, depends on where you start counting, so in regard of history it's really nothing, we can leave it behind and do something much better.

@Noriko Tempest Rising is one of our last hope of in-dev classic style RTS to be an actually good og game. But the demo was very pleasant to play, so I have high hopes.

My only concern is post-release support for the game. Last year for Phantom Fury, also from 3DRealms, it was incredibly disappointing, the game only received two small patches within a month of release before all further support for the game was completely stopped, when there was so much room for improvement.

But the conditions didn't help either, as we were in the midst of the big wave of lay-offs and withdrawal of funding for all projects that had only done moderately well or not very well. The problem is that many publishers are still not really out of that period.

Assassin's Creed Shadows and Civilization VII offered when you purchase a new mid to high end Intel CPU...🤔

That would be very interesting, as I'm starting contemplating the upgrade of our 9th Gen rig, but the least expensive is at least 300 bucks here, and the special offer is only valid at a retailer where I can't use my end-of-year vouchers from work.
