The promise of having mastered technology enough to give consciousness to the machines we build, and the one of having mastered biology enough so we can modify our bodies to be whoever and look however we want.
Of the two, we are currently the more advanced, and by a long way: while the pseudo-IAs are barely capable of doing basic calculations correctly every time, we have already mastered everything we need to make a complete transition.
And yet it's these stupid pseudo-IAs that are showered with billions, and us that fascists want to wipe out of existence with the stroke of a pen. We really do have the worst freaking timeline.
Jurassic WorldHmm, so the plot of the upcoming movie is about a team going to the og Jurassic Park's research island, where were left the most dangerous species (which is saying a lot when you know which ones they had already in the og park).
And the main plot of first Jurassic World movie was about "hey, people seem annoyed with dinosaurs (which would be the most stupid thing ever when IRL Paris' Agricultural Show have such a popular success every year), how about we create even more dangerous dinosaurs?", but didn't involved at any point that island "where the most dangerous were left" since even before the first Jurassic Park?
I hope the movie addresses that at some point, otherwise there's a high chance of me being like "uh, do you guys watch the previous movies sometimes before making sequels?"
