@myoan Pas vraiment au quotidien, mais je l'utilise en tant qu'application de notes perso. Je n'ai juste pas vraiment le réflexe "second brain" comme certains. Et du coup vu que j'en ai une utilisation assez occasionnelle, je n'ai pas encore regardé l'auto-hébergement, le nœud par défaut fait le taf.

it doesn't even have a proper site
goblin.band looks very much like a proper site at first glance: it's a clean domain name (could have been test.goblin.band or something, and just leave a generic "under construction" page for goblin.band), although basic it has a logo and the description on the main page doesn't say this is a test/alpha instance either.

This is essentially what makes the difference between a shipped project and something cooking for web-based projects. Just looking at the front page of your website, I have no way to know this is just alpha stuff.

But your project is already released, it's currently publicly available and running in Prod, you're using it to reply to me... This is too late to consider it to be just testing stuff, right now your project is out in the open, and nothing says that your instance is a test environment. Whatever you're doing, you're testing in Prod right now.

@javi Like, respecting the wishes of the project you're forking? I'm pretty sure if Kainoa saw that you put it on GitHub, he would strongly disagree with you still having any kind of Firefish branding still in the code.

And seriously, a mass replace takes no time at all, this is just lazy, if you can't do that there is no way you find time to do "more important stuff".

@frost Wtf, @javi is so lazy that he didn't even do a global replace before deploying his half-assed fork... This is literally a worse version of Firefish, with a garbage base theme that is really not accessible
A screenshot of goblin.band's Server Information window. We can see multiple references to Firefish, and the Accessibility tab of the dev tools is opened, showing that a hovered button saying "About Firefish" has a contrast of 2.48-2.51. WCAG standards recommend a minimum contrast ratio (AA rating) of 4.5, and for AAA rating a contrast ratio of 7 or more is required. This is really ugly and hard to read.

Je découvre Blacklight, un site permettant d'analyser d'autres sites et voir le nombre de trackers et cookies utilisés.
On peut choisir entre les résultats US ou Europe, la différence est choquante dans certains cas. Merci GDPR !

@benjojo Great article! I'm surprised the big 3 (AWS, GCP, Azure) are so low on the list, I know that the Fediverse is overall against big tech but I still expected to see more of it.
